My M-2 has an S-2 fairing on it and the mirror folds in to easily. I tried tightening but the internal bolt just spins. Is there a way to stop that bolt from spinning without chewing up the outside of the mirror? Thanks! |

The mirror on my S2 has a rubber boot. Under the boot is a joint held together with a hex bolt, I tighten that down to keep the mirror from folding against the fairing. Is this what you are talking about? The other thing is a ball joint in the mirror housing, THAT you will have to use Crazy glue on. |

It's the hex bolt. It won't tighten or loosen anymore. It just spins so the mirror will flop in at high speed. Thanks for any tips before I tear it all to Hell! |

Had the same prob with my S3T. I pulled the bolt out, I slid (forced) a flat washer in between where the mirror stalk slips into the fairing bracket and tightened it all up. Worked like a charm. Not the factory manual solution but it worked. |

My S3T mirror is loose too... but my hex bolt does tighten... I can tighten it all the way, but the stalk is still loose. It appears that the nut from the upper part of the bracket may have pushed through some plastic that was holding it in? Basically when you tighten the hex bolt, the nut just drops out of the upper portion of the bracket and onto the mirror stalk... so the bracket is not squeezing anything at that point which is how I presume it's supposed to work? |

Interesting... just happened to have a washer that fit exactly the round opening in which the nut resides... shoved it in at the top above the nut (there is enough plastic there to hold it in place so it doesn't drop out the bottom), then I tightened... it worked.... the 2 sides of the bracket now squeeze the stalk. |

I'll have to work that hex bolt out or drill it since the captured nut is spinning and shim it up like you guys said. I have a bunch of shims for Footpegs . Maybe they'll work.... Thanks for your help guys! |
