ok so it turms out that it is not the sensor, but it is the connector that plugs nto the sensor, the wires are pilled out of it and it is cracked. so would anyone know where i can get that plug , i looked in the parts manual but no luck. |

Can you just bypass the plug and solder it or crimp on a couple of bullet connectors? |

i thought of that but i do not have the right size connectors , to crimp it to the 2 posts out of the sensor, and i would also have to cut back the clip part of the sensor to get to the posts. |

You need #1 socket terminals. Pull it apart and see if you can salvage the old ones. You might be able to buy new socket terminals.

You can get them from the HD ship.I did about 5 years ago when i was converting my bike('00 X-1) to XB lights and used the existing harness and made an adapter harness from the original light harness to the XB lights so that i wasn't butchering up any harnesses or connections.Besides it looks much neater and "original looking".Just take one of the original ones in and have them match it up or have them look up the diagram and get it.Either way,it can be done.LT |

ALFAU, the plug that you have pictured is not the plug that is on my bike, i did happen to RIG it togethor for now to test it to make sure it is the problem, and it is so i do no that my 2001 F350 7.3 uses the same IAT sensor so i thunk i might try to find the IAT wire for a 2001 F350 and use that to connect it. Thanks for the help guys.. |
