Sleez Why not give the people in this threat first dibs? They might see you're ad in the classifieds a little late and see parts go they already showed interest. Experience this my self a lot when i search for parts: just a little to late and the parts are gone |

Dutch; i am trying not to use this thread as a classified, like i have explained, just trying to figure out what has interest. i will post here first before posting in classified, i imagine some people may not see this thread and want a chance at the parts as well. i plan on posting the parts with my "desired" price and OBO. i am expecting most will be haggled, but if someone wants them for the first asking price, they will be sold. i am looking for the best price i can get, this isn't going to be a "cleaning out the garage" sale, i need the money, and my interests are moving on. i appreciate your thoughts, just trying to be fair. maybe i shouldn't have posted here at at all, just surprised everyone with the classified ads??? |

yes, that would have avoided the feeding frenzy. a bit at a time will keep folks from finding out where you live and camping out at your door..... |

maybe i shouldn't have posted here at at all, just surprised everyone with the classified ads??? I think this thread is a polite and thoughtful way of giving a heads-up to the folks who know you here and would like to have a crack at your stuff. Just the sort of gentlemanly behavior we encourage here in the Old School section, isn't it? I give sure prop's for handling it this way. That said, I can understand those who've expressed interest wanting first dibs, but now you know to check back here; and as long as the thread doesn't spill over 30 posts you'll get an email message letting you know when Sleez is posting stuff up for sale, provided you have your alerts set up to do that. If not, check your profile and make that adjustment for a temporary period for this specific event then change it back later. |

I'd be interested in the S2 air cleaner, when the time comes, as a spare...assuming it's an original greenie... |

sleez. i agree with littlebuggles this being a polite way of giving heads up. it`s just depressing when you show first interest in a part that is or going to be for sale and see it being sold to some one else who just logged in on the right time because you can`t keep a eye on you`re laptop 24/7 . going to buy a lot of energy drinks and stay with my laptop as long i can hold on hope all go`s well with you`re new business so you can buy some tube buells again in the future (Message edited by Dutch x1 on September 15, 2012) |

thanks for understanding! it breaks my heart to have to do it, i have been wrestling with the decision for a few weeks, and i know once they are gone, i'll probably never be able to replace them. my very first buell from jan 98 (97 S3) and all the miles and smiles since. i just decided i need to focus on my future right now, keeping my Uly will keep me in the fold, i lost sleep again last night, it is painful to do, but needs to be done |

Sleez, I know what your going through. I went through the same thing back in 2000. I sold my beloved 98 S1W and all of the parts in order to support our (my son and I) metric Super Sport drag racing effort in Prostar and AMA Dragbike. Sleepless nights, etc. Finally pulled the trigger and the needed funds help push us toward a national championship in 2006. Best move I ever made. Anything else would have been a half measure. So push forward! When we retired the program 2 years ago I found a basket case S1W, restored and here I am back where I left off. Nice lecture, huh? (inserted this for levity) Seriously, good luck! ok guys, it seems the 1250 kit will be posted first. it should get fair money, since i could sell it to any sportster or tube frame buell owner. it would sell pretty easy on ebay i think. do you all think i should include it complete? (cylinders, pistons, heads, cams) or just the cylinders and pistons, and sell the heads and cams separately? |

Sleez, if the heads and piston are matched ( like heads combustion chamber & piston tops are set up to work together. would be better. but the cams could sell sepparate . what heads do you have? & what is the compression ratio with pistons? |

the heads are stage 2 thunderstorms, not sure on the pistons, i am going to have to dig the data sheet out to post all the pertinent info. i am leaning toward selling the whole kit together. i have to get all the details together, and get a few pics. |
