i think my rear caliper has the rubber bits on the screw mounts shot, can these screws with the rubber part be bought separate from the caliper? the caliper moves very freely compared to my Uly's one ans i doubt this is normal. |

Miguel, I have had no luck finding the rubber boots that fit with the caliper mounting bolts If you find a source post up, I need a set too. good luck |

They are the same, as far as I can tell in side by side and numbers both cast and stamped into them - as an XB rear caliper. PN's for the boots from the 07 XB12Ss/STT book show this: H0034.T BOOT SET, flange bolt H0053.T BOOT, bracket pin There are different boots on the front and rear portion of the caliper. X1 book doesn't show a break down on those specific parts the XB book does. I have to wonder if the X1 caliper repair kit (44149-98Y) contains new boots or is just the rings and piston for the caliper itself. Multi brand dealer may be able to get these Nissin parts for you if there's not a Buell dealer near you, or perhaps see if Al can source them them if you rather keep it in the family. -Mike |

I've been able to get Nissin brake parts through Parts Unlimited...which most motorcycle dealers can order through. |

Cool, good tip Rick! I got a "caliper rebuild kit" from A.S.B. a few years ago for my tuber, it consisted of a set of rubber rings and a new caliper piston and that's it - in Buell parts bags, so that's why I believe the repair kit listed in the manual is only that. (Al gets a lot of parts from his local dealer and sends them to us with no mark up, just shipping). |

If I am correct in which part(s) you are talking about, I took mine off and went to the nearest H-D dealer and asked for a new one and pointed to nearest Sportster rear brake. Dealer had them in stock, and avoided the whole "We don't do Buell" issue. Hope this helps, Dave |

Well finally after looking at my Uly i saw that the grommet was the same ans shad that free space, so i guess all was fine just i was thinking that the free play of the caliper was to much, so all was fine, need to look more in the manual. Thanks for all the help. but i'll still going to put a braided steel line with the xb light sensor (peace of mind). |

Never go into a harley dealer and start the conversation with "I need this part for my Buell". They do not speak Buell anymore...and didn't speak it well when they did. Try the sportster angle, it seams to work, although they really only care if your on a late model big twin. |
