Author Message   Lakes Posted on Friday, September 14, 2012 - 04:48 am:        think i need new speedo sensor as regulator went and was charging @ 19 volts got new regulator checked & now charging at 14 volt checked alternator and the output was strong, just when this happened took out battery & now just found speedo don't work, so does the Buell use same sensor as the sportster? Thanks   Alfau Posted on Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 05:18 pm:        The sensor is magnetized and like the oil drain plug,attracts any metal shavings which are suspended in the gearbox oil and the resulting film of crap interferes with the signal to speedo. Before you replace it; whip it out and wipe it.lol Check connections and fuses. If it still doesn't work make sure you get the very latest updated sensor.
