Has anyone seen a value of a Signature Series package? Thanks |

I think most folks who know what it is, are happy enough to reunite the package with the correct motorcycle...I know I would be. |

I buy them whenever I see them pop up . . . . I've paid as little as $50 and as high as $250. |

Back when I created the S2 List, I used to monitor signature timing covers that were not matched to their bikes. There were quite a few folks that had covers found on ebay that were not with their respective bikes. I don't know if this list is still maintained anymore, as someone else is taking care of the list... I had turned it over to Frank, who in turn, handed it over to, (I think) Velocity. |

Bartimus, you know I have been keeping it up to date. you have been digging me here and there, what's up with that? Scott |

Scott, Sorry if you feel I am digging at you, it is not intentional. I have no clue as to the status of the list, it isn’t posted anywhere that I know of. I only know you were handling it because Frank said he was passing it on to you here on the badweb. When I created the list, about ten years ago, I listed any and all info I received, which at times, was a ton of info. There were a bunch of covers on the list, that had no home. Folks just bought them because they saw them on eBay. Some, found their rightful owners because of the list. I thought in "streamlining" the list, Frank may have dropped the covers only part from the list. I'm not sure. Like I said, I haven't seen the list for years. I kept the list updated, and posted it regularly on a thread set aside for the S2 Signature Series. I think Frank had it for awhile on Yahoo, but that got bothersome, I can't remember. Seems the list used to be public, now it's secret or something. (Maybe that's my issue?) Anyhow, like I said, not trying to dig or bother anyone, sorry if you felt that I was... |

wow, that is good. i knew there was a list, I guess Ididn't know there was a list just for the covers. It would be great to be able to dial into it. If there is, I must have forgotten where it is. REX |

The covers were included in the list, not a separate list, as some folks just had covers and hoped to reunite them with the owners. |

Ok Gents, So I am picking up my second S2 in 2 weeks tonight. # 349 full sig documents . Questions.... What/where do the first 6 digits on the timing plate come from???..... 95S249. 95 yr I guess ... S2 is obvious ... What about the 49 (49 states???) My first s2 I bought in 96 has the same #s on it I'm guessing I have it figured out.... Also in the vin.... Does it state color or wheel pkg? Or was it just an order thing & not documented. I don't see anything in the vin brake down in any of my manuals. Thanks Ride Safe Chris |

I will check to see if the list that I agreed to keep up to date includes just sig covers/plates only. I do not recall it does.... As far as making it public not sure what to do there, here's why it has people’s names and address and email and phone numbers etc.... Now before everyone goes off on me, All the years I have been on this site I have had several and still have S2's, so I have keep up and read the s2 old school section for quite some time, as well as participated ,I have never seen the list made public. SO I only knew you could email This Frank guy. He is the keeper of the S2 info that never bothered me. When he was not doing so well, and was looking for a volunteer to take over the list and maintain it, at first no one was interested…. So I thought I will do it, how hard can it be. Well I have kept every email and every response in an archive on my home server, I started counting it’s in the hundreds, who would have thought it! Most off all are emails sent to my email that is linked to the site. I had great ideas of what I was going to do, maintain a website make it out there for all, well I do not have the time to invest there, so I have kept it up to date and answer questions , and add people to the list. I always respond. Bartimus, I’m not hiding anything, I have been continuing to keep apparently what you say you started up to date! If you want it back than ask! If Frank wants to resume where he left off I’m good with that. I have enjoyed the interaction with all that have contributed to the list, what do the people on the list think; do you want your info given out? Should I send an email out to all on the list and they can vote? I would think it should be unanimous….. What’s the consensus…. Frank, what do you think? Scott |

Scott- I really appreciate the work you have done maintaining the list. I believe that Frank used to post up a clean version of the list with personal information columns erased. If the database is in a excel format then that is easy enough to do. I will do a quick search and see if I can find some of those old posts. Well, the excellent search function left me with a virtual cornucopia of dead ends. But i do remember the list being posted in an abbreviated form in the past. |

Just a thought but what if post it on the badweb but have it password locked and email all current members on the list the password. As new owners develop add them and then give them the password. I have no problem with the members of Badweb seeing the info I supplied on my S2 or me. If you are a member you can look up any ones profile and get all sorts of info or how much they want shared. The older lists did not include any addresses or phone numbers, just last four of the VIN, year, color, badweb name, and if the had the cover, or were looking. Here is a link to one of the older lists, circa 2007: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/300984.html?1187640402 and the first spreadsheet Kristi helped me create: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=47623&post=957470#POST957470 hope this helps... K2Pilot, the VIN does not include color or wheel choice on S2 models. |

The VIN doesn't on ANY vehicle. The VIN protocol is dictated to manufactures by the federal government. The "Build Sheet" includes every detail, including exceptions, about a specific VIN. Buells build sheets also noted "special" bikes like those made for specific people, projects or deployment. |

K2 Pilot, Most Buell parts catalogs will have a partial description of the VIN designators on the inside front page. That helps "de-code" the VIN - somewhat... |

Thanks Guys, As Court noted.. details on bike specific info is only on the build sheet. Everything else I figured out. Ride Safe |

Picked up two wrecked '95's this weekend, both within 50 miles of me, different owners. One no motor, one really wrecked, with cracked cases. I'll try to get the vins to Bartimus. Too much work to put either back on the road. Parts bikes only. My vote is to be able to see a version of the list on line. I'd love to see if the four I now have are on it. I've had 244 since new, and 1000 for several years. |

Found this board today. I still have my 95 S2 #048. I have my signature series docs, too, never put the plate on my bike. I will send my VIN to Velocity today. Nice to meet you all. |
