Tommarrow morning will suck. Glad you're ok otherwise. People have been really good to me when I've gone down. Once committed in a lean it's sometimes easier to straighten up slightly then crank it in again. If the tires have squared-off sides it's difficult regardless. |

Thanks Rick. Do not know really what happened i do know it was very windy and i just came out of a wooded area into open field i have new tires and freshly adjusted forks so it could be many things. |

These bikes like to turn but you will notice when the wind is fast most bikes stay off the roads. I would rather ride 300 miles in light rain then ride in fast wind on a Buell. New tires didnt help. |

Glad you made out OK. I assume you had a jacket otherwise it would have been much worse. Just curious, did you keep pushing down on the left bar and it still wouldn't lean? And were you using yours rear brake to slow down? Sometimes applying the rear brake around a corner tends to straighten up the bike making it harder to lean. |

Hope you and the bike recover quickly. I don't share this kind of story with my wife. |

Wow, sorry to hear it, sucks, I know. Last time I took a spill, in San Francisco, guy comes running out of his house, "Did you hit my car ?!" Uh thanks bud, but no... Since then, I added the LSL frame sliders. I wish we could find a folding gearshift peg, like dirtbike have. That would be a worthwhile addition. |

I leasrned the hard way: If you ever have something happen to you or your kid(s) when your wife is away, there's a right way and a wrong way to start a conversation: WRONG: "Um, honey, there has been an accident...." RIGHT: "EVERYONE IS TOTALLY OK, honey, but there was a little accident." With the first (wrong) way, one of you is going to die: if your wife doesn't keel over from a heart attack first, then she will kill you LOL. Well, I laugh about it now..... |

I can 1 up you on the wrong way. I went down at a track day that my wife came along with me on. She was in the infield when I went down and did not see what happened. All she knew is I was the only one who didn't come off the track. Minutes later they brought the pieces of my bike back to our Jeep and she saw the ambulance driving off the track. I had cut my leg (14 stitches later that day) but overall was in pretty good shape. She ran to the ambulance expecting me to be a total wreck... Yeah, that was definately the WRONG way!!! S1, sorry to hear about you going down. |

Looked over the road i went down on today think i found an issue that contributed to my crash! Unlike most turns that bank to the inside this one banks to the out side for water drainage combine that with the high winds and i think i have at least an idea! |

Heal up quick! Glad you dress for the crash, sorry 'bout the bike. Clutch lever may have bent at the perch, would make it a bit harder to use, course banging your shifter or primary against the ground could do that a bit too. Off camber turn + cross wind = very technical riding. (I hesitate to say this, hence the whisper but maybe practice the bike's handling in the wind on some straight roads, to get a feel for it before hurrying through those curves on the way home again. I found having to press on the windward side bar to keep moving in a straight line a little disconcerting since it increases your lean, but it is the thing to do since the bike is already pushed into a lean by the cross wind. MSF classes saved my butt several times over.) "Did you hit my car ?!" "No, I tried to but the ground stopped me before I could get to it..." |

I hurt my bicep, rotator cuff, and pectoral muscle all on the same side in one incident. I couldn't lift my hand over my head for weeks, and couldn't pick up anything heavier than a pound or so for months. It was almost comical. I was able to ride, though I felt exceptionally frail and really took it easy. No surgery, just a lot of pain in pushing myself to regain movement then strength. Surgery is a last resort IMO. |
