Figure I'll post it here as I'll get a quicker response. Something happened in my ignition today, and now it wont rotate off. So my key is stuck in and in the on position. I had to unplug the switch to get the bike to turn off. LoL. Anyone have something for me? Thanks! |

I'd buy the one from American Sport Bike. Works well and is very reasonably priced. Mine did the same as yours and I use the American Sport Bike one now. |

I would be interested in your old switch. I need the back electrical side to fix my switch. I currently have the American Sport Bike switch in my X1 and it works fine. I just hate having multiple keys. |

So you just need a key for the gas cap? |

Personally I never use the key for anything other than the ignition. Never locked the gas cap or frame on any bike. I think in the 70's I had a locking cap on a 65 Chevy because nefarious type persons were siphoning gas. If they wanted it now well just pull the hose on the bike. |

Try depressing the key then turn to remove. (Push down and turn off) The switch has an auxiliary position which allows for a parking light, required in some countries. This can flatten your battery if left in the auxiliary position for prolonged periods. You can order a new exact same switch through your local approved HD blood suckers store,by providing the barrel number etched on to your old switch. These switches are typical cheap HD junk, made of inferior metals, like everything else HD and don't last very long if not regularly sprayed with silicone or something similar. Good luck. |
