My pogo could use some work as well. I heard race-tech does the old tuber shocks by showa. Anyone have a rebuilt shock last a good long time? |

Racetech does a great job. They even service the WP stuff front and rear. Just a tad pricey, but worth it. Good luck! |

I had Race Tech do a basic rebuild alittle over a year ago and 10,000 plus miles. Still good! |

Race tech did mine with their Gold Valve kit and a new high pressure hose for 300+. A good value. I have less than 10K on the rebuild but still good |

I put 1,500 miles on my racetech rebuild this summer and it has been great. Super happy I did the rebuild! |

My rebuilt shock is holding up fine. I haven't put a lot of miles on it since it was done in 2007 though. The custom valving and set-up sure improved it's track handling! When it goes bad I'll install the Works shock sitting in my garage, until then I'll keep running it. Rebuilt by Aftershocks in CA in Aug 2007, I can't find any info indicating they are still in business now, which is too bad. |

Just had John at Moto Pro Suspension do it. Called Racetech the person I had to talk to was at lunch. Called Moto Pro and talked to John and the passion and knowledge he had came through the phone so I sent it to him. Don't know how well it works yet gonna put it on this weekend so I'll keep everyone updated. |

Mine blows about every 15K. The first time it got Gold Valves, a braided reservoir hose, and the reservoir relocated to a better location than right next to the header. The next time it got some fancy shock fluid and a bushing. It has gotten better every time. |

I literally just watched my shock go bad. Apparently a seal in the remote reservoir gave up. So a rebuild will last up to almost exactly five years if ridden lightly. I was bolting my exhaust back on after replacing my starter gasket and doing some primary work, tapped the reservoir as I was doing up the muffler clamp, minutes later the thing is dribbling all over the garage floor. I have a Works shock on standby, but it still irks me. Bike was going to go for its safety inspection for registration renewal once I had the thing back together tonight. Anyone want to buy a short Showa shock, custom valved for aggressive street riding, 190lb rider? It's gonna need to be rebuilt |

Got 8k on my works shock thus far, still goin strong. Just watch the routing in front of the VR, put some plastic around the hose or something. |

Cool, thanks Josh. Terrible timing on the shock's part. I'll send the stocker off for rebuild with just new seals later on, hopefully this used Works unit will be okay for a while, and if it's as good as everyone says they are maybe I won't want to bother with fixing the Showa. I wonder if Traxion Dynamics does shocks as well as forks. I've read good things about their front end work. Christopher_x1, will you post up the results when you get your shock done and back on? |
