Does anybody have a race eeprom with race maps/timing compatible with "BUEGCOBO 04-20-98" firmware? Its the orig '99 ecm - stamped "BFIUSO" on the housing. I've tried several other(newer) race epr files but it keeps saying "not compatible". I've also tried just loading and burning the fuel/timing maps-which it lets me do, but then it wont run till I reload the original eeprom. Just did 2900 miles in 8 days, all over theSmokiesragon, surrounding, etc=awesome! on my 99 s3 with stock maps,v&h ss2r,bosch o2,& an s&s teardrop ac. Was fine all week but started/kept cutting out momentarily in the last 300miles back to Chicago. Once home, my AFV showed 143 which explains why the ceramic is cooked at the rear header, but both plugs look healthy-med dark gray. No intake leaks detected with carb cleaner or water misting, and no trouble codes-curent or previous. Im not familiar enuf with ecmspy to just selectively tune my eeprom weak points but a compatible race eeprom would be very much appreciated. Anyone?? |

I didn't mention it bcuz I replaced it anyway, but I had ruled out the fuel filter because even when it was cutting out the worst, it would pull hard w/out hesitation when if I throttled up. I since reset the afv to 100, zero'd the tps, rode about 10 miles, and found the AFV back up to 105.5 |

To Buelisticx1 & Terrys1980, I found a previous thread where you guys were trying to help another guy having probs with my same or similar ecm...BFIUSO, N0306.k98352 / US06GCOBO, but I cant find how it played out. Were either of you able to get him maps or eeproms to work? Buellisticx1-Posted on Thursday, January 26, 2012 - 06:33 pm: You can't loading the race fuel maps in your stock ECM, because it is not compatible for loading. Your stock ECM (BUEGC0B0) is not a version (firmware compatible), ONLY BUEJA120&KA210 as I said. Terrys1980-Posted on Thursday, January 26, Yes, you can copy just fuel/timing race maps to a stock ECM. It is a simple copy and paste. |

started/kept cutting out momentarily in the last 300miles This indicates problems out side the ecm typically, or a bad ecm. }I've tried several other(newer) race epr files but it keeps saying "not compatible". fortunately you have not ruined your ecm the missing can be from a variety of sources not the ecm. check all of your electrical connections. your main switch, safety interlocks, I have found water misting and carb cleaner to be in-effective, try propane delivered to the area from an un lit torch for seal leak testing grey / brown plugs indicate normal to rich mixture 105 is well with in the norm I live at sea level and my afv's run about that. check that the intake air temp and motor temp ( motor cold ) are close ( with in a couple of degrees ) I would not alter the ecm until you determine the cause of the miss / shut down. |

Thx Oldog but other than the plugs(10r12)looking healthy-rich, the cooked ceramic coating at the rear head pipe and the 143 AFV reading indicate its was running WAY too lean...Which has always been my concern about running stock maps with aftermarket exhaust and air cleaner... I'd really like to burn the firmware compatible race maps/eeprom if I could get em. The air intake sensor does match cold engine temp and all the other sensors/systems/connections appear to be in order |

Has the afv changed since reset ( over 105 ) the plugs / coating dont fit if its drifting up it may be the o2 or the ecm you could get high heat if the fuel is burning in the exhaust also in that only the rear is effected you sure its not coating with the o2 in the rear only there are a limited number of rich lean sets.. |

I ran a super trap and force winder on a stock x1 ecm ('01 ) for a long time it works ok and the engine was undamaged at 43K when I had to go into the top end due to the cast head mount messing up. } |

Thx 01x1,thats why im looking for race maps and how to advice. Wack01,.. Yea, I found that thread, and several others which more than suggest my BFIUSO can NOT be changed, and I'm starting to believe it.. I tried just loading just some fuel maps, and it wouldn't run... Then, like lunchbox said in the thread u posted, I changed just one(1)cell, and it wouldnt run until I re-burned it with my orig s3eeprom... So am I really stuck with the orig/lean maps I've got until I can find a newer version or race ecm that hasnt been trashed? . |
