Just a reminder for all you old schoolers to be on the look out for ROAD HAZARDS! I almost hit a huge chunk of semi tire on the freeway at 75 mph. I just spotted it in front of a truck as i was going to the express lane on the left and i hesitated because i (thought) I saw something. Damn good thing because it was a big tire chunk. missed it buy .5 seconds seriously. Today on the dual sport i was buzzin down the freeway at 80 mph this time (was a tad late you know) And All of a sudden Whack! I get blasted in the shin by something. I am thinking its a rock as usual and the sting will stop soon. Man it kept hurting and then i knew it was a little worse. So i looked down and there is hole in my pants and some black reddish thing\stuff stuck to my shin under the pants. I could not really tell ever what it was. It looked like a little chunk of metal.....I grabbed it and pulled it out. It was stuck like an inch deep. Man that sucker stung. I totally forgot to snap a pic of it. I did get a pic right after i pulled it out and wiped up the wound a little and changed into my work shorts. We had a fellow rider die here in the past 3-4 weeks, He hit a mattress that a guy didn't strap down properly on the highway at speed. The driver that dropped the mattress turned himself in and just got failure to secure load charges. But the worst was he had to go tell the family he was sorry and he was responsible for there dad\husbands death. You guys\gals WATCHOUT! And be safe. Lots of toys out and about on trailers. Trailer = unsecured load = Danger. |

Glad that didnt turn out worse for you. Very sad about the rider that was killed, but at least the man responsible turned himself in. |
