While waiting for a ride I called one local shop and the parts lady checked her system and inventory and said there wasn't a stock S2 handlebar anywhere in the region. So now I'm looking at my options. You could always drop me an email, than i could pick up the set sitting at my dealer, as well as pass along the %10 off they give Brag members, and since there in stock(i looked today) you could have them in a few days, or drive down and pick them up youself let em know what you think R |

Roger, Thanks, but one of the Hal's folks had a set of standard bars I picked up. Still looking into alternative clip-on options though. Henrik, They're all yours. All, If anyone out there has a spare upper triple tree available I might be interested, early or late variety either one is fine. Thinking of coming up with something to use regular style handlebars. Brad, I'll be dropping your bars back in the post after this weekend, or I can run them up to Daves' event on Saturday if you'll be there (assuming I make it there myself). |

Philly - I don't "need" the bars, but I have a 7/8" project in mind, and FMJ's idea of just welding in a piece on stock bars may be a good way to go. So whenever you get to it, and if you want to sell, let me know. Roger; no rush, if Philly's bars work out, I'm set. Thanks all. Henrik |

Henrik, I'll let you know when I get the bars switched - shouldn't be too long - I'm done with moving in 2 weeks. |

I did, this dealer is very pro Buell, sponsors Buell and XR racers, has a Brag club of around 30 members, i would never stiff a Buell buyer or owner, if my understanding of the bars is correct, these are not recall items, but is someone wants me to, i could take a pic, again i am not really good with S2's, but happy to help R |

Roger, Looking at the open end of the welded end of the handlebars where they're welded to the clamps the handlebar tubing will either be ground down/notched or will be crimped to fit the profile of the clamp prior to welding. If they are the touring height bars and are ground notched then they are the original style of the recalled bars and should be pulled off the rack, if they are the touring height bars and are crimped then they are the updated version, if they are not the touring height bars and are ground notched then they are the original style non-T S2 bars of which I recently broke one. At least that is my understanding of them in words. Since the shop is Buell-saavy then they are most likely the updated crimped version of the touring bars and are priced at a very nice price since I was quoted over $60 for one standard S2 bar if ordered new. There are pictures buried in the KnowledgeVault in one of the archives someplace. |

Brad/BluzM2, Your handlebars will be on the way back in today's mail. Dropping them off at the post office on the way home in about a half hour. I put a little something extra inside that I found down here for you to keep and enjoy. Hope you like it. Thanks again. I found a reference to some TwoBrothers handlebars over on SacBORG that seem interesting. May be checking into them a little more if my own design ends up not looking feasible. |
