Hey folks, I understand the handling issue but would like to mount the widest tire possible on my 01 M2. I'm not dragging knees these days but do like the wider look. How big can I go with all stock conditions. Thanks |

Just from reading on here, 180 all stock. Remove the rear hugger and you can go 190 but may get some belt rubbing. |

It isn't a matter of dragging knees, it's "pinching" the tire onto a narrower rim. Your profile will change, and the bike will "tip" off-center when you lean into a turn. Your left-right transitions will also be affected. You can easily learn to ride around those characteristics, but they will be there. |

Thanks guys, I think I'll try the 180. Just a little wider for a subtle change in that direction. I like keeping the hugger too so one step wider for now. Thanks again!!! |

190 looks cool, but you really have to learn to compensate Always. 170 absolutely handles best. Also with the 190 you cannot use it to the edge on a 5.5 rim.

The PM wheel is 5.5", the stock, Marchesini style (Castalloy) wheel is 5", just for reference. So the 190 is better on the PM, you'd really have to pinch it, and loose some of that width because of it, to get a 190 on the standard wheel. |
