i am looking at buying a x1w blue header, right now it is wrapped with header wrap, if i take it of will it have ruined the finish. |

I would say more than likely finished will be ruined , possible pipe could have cracks where wrap held heat, weaking the steel |

never heard of wrap affecting ceramic coating, but maybe so.. i'd unwrap to see whats under there, u can always re-wrap |

i have not bought it yet but i will think about it cause i would love to have that blue on my bike. |

That stuff is pretty abrasive, ceramic coating can and will wear off. But if everything is ok when you remove wrap you can always have it recoated. |

if you havent bought it yet, i would be hesitant to buy a wrapped pipe without knowing whats under the wrap (condition, dents, rewelds and such).... Alternatively, U could always have your current header coated in blue. I was able to have mine done locally....

if you don't want a wrapped pipe, I'd ask the seller to remove the wrap and send pictures afterward. Otherwise you're just gambling that it'll be what you want. |

i asked for that but his concern is that if he removes the wrap then no one will want the blue pipe. |

well i am looking for a new one since my current pipe is a slight bit out of wack due to the PO dropping the bike. |

In that case I'd just pass and keep looking, unless you're prepared to not have a usable blue pipe. |
