So the new to me Beast has a Showa Reservoir type shock on it. Is this a concern? is the rear mount the type that I've read about? Or am I not to worry about this?
Thanks In Advance!!!

Rob

That is the first generation showa which got the "clamshell" fix (SRP).

Here's a great link with lots of good info for you. scroll down for the shock section for a little more in depth history.

Your chain appears to be way too tight, though I can't see the top of it. If it's too tight, you will have bearing issues. The chain will get tighter as the swingarm moves through its arc.

Thanks guys, Hootowl, I was wondering if it was too tight as the sprocket teeth seem pretty worn(sharp) for only 4000 miles. But I also have no chain experience, only belt drives....I will say that the top of chain had been contacting the aluminum piece that the "buell" support bracket is bolted to, which would almost seem to loose??
Anyways, I will have a lot more questions, Thanks in advance! Rob G

95s2bolt,
Your S2 has the early Showa which was installed as a early replacements for recall 0817 - meaning the recall has been performed. The clamshell was not used in '95 - '98 applications. There's another thread on Old School - Recalled Shock.
