Author Message   Dannybuell Posted on Monday, June 18, 2012 - 02:34 am:        I just bought a used updated exhaust hanger for my 96S1. The thing has two bushings and no instructions. Is the inner bushing for the bracket near the collector on 2" exhaust pipes? The instructions do not mention the slotted bracket on the 2" exhaust pipe near the collector that mounts to the old bracket. Is this part ignored?   Jhuppdog Posted on Monday, June 18, 2012 - 02:45 pm:        I would say yes, ignore the slotted bracket on the 2" exhaust pipe near the collector. The new Y bracket takes the place of that bracket. The slotted bracket is the one that everyone has issues with. That bracket broke off and being stainless my welder told me that heat cycles tend to make stainless brittle.
