I just bought a used updated exhaust hanger for my 96S1. The thing has two bushings and no instructions. Is the inner bushing for the bracket near the collector on 2" exhaust pipes?

I would appreciate some guidance on this before I get started.

Pm sent. Lafayette sent me the recall information sheet from Buell with all the instructions for the new mounting bracket. I can forward it to you.

The instructions for the 'Y' mount recall/upgrade are in the knowledge vault:

Thank you!!!!

The instructions do not mention the slotted bracket on the 2" exhaust pipe near the collector that mounts to the old bracket. Is this part ignored?

I would say yes, ignore the slotted bracket on the 2" exhaust pipe near the collector. The new Y bracket takes the place of that bracket. The slotted bracket is the one that everyone has issues with. If I am wrong I am sure someone more knowledgeable will step in and say something.

I appreciate the opinions. That bracket broke off and being stainless my welder told me that heat cycles tend to make stainless brittle. Later in thinking about what he said, I began to wonder if he was suggesting that this might have been the last time.
