What did you all do to the bike? I'm still trying to get my 96 S1 tuned right. Just doesn't feel like it has the power it should! I have the hardest time getting my gas cap out? Locks down fine but seems like it is a tad larger than the hole it goes in and I struggle at the pump trying to get it out...very embarrassing! |

I tore the entire bike down and rebuilt it and needed a header so got tgat installed today and fired her up. Your cap issue is easy to fix i did it to my old tank the part that is in the tank take it out and file the flat parts a hair wider with a flat metal file thats all it takes! Check this link for my bike! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/681124.html?1338660883 (Message edited by S1owner on June 17, 2012) |

...or just file those spots on the cap, and you don't have to remove anything from the bike. Other than the cap, that is. |

You shouldn't tighten the nut under the cap all the way. There's a sweet spot where it can clamp and rotate just right. |
