Hmmm...Haas SL-20 with parts catcher, standard turret, chip auger and tailstock. Judging from the red handle on the door, the 10" LCD and the LED beacon, I'm going to put it around 2004 to maybe early 2005. What do I win?  | ||

should've bought a MAZAK! LOL 12 yrs setting up mazaks so the off shifts could "just push start" New shop im at has Hass, "Fatal", bridgeports and some other crappy machines. Not one even comes close to the Mazak Integrex that I used to run. This thread toataly went off to a new topic and really made me miss my "old machine". jeff | ||

Ive got some parts I want custom made...the machinist I am "working" with is slow, slow, slow, slow, and I think he might be deaf since he either doesnt hear or doesnt understand anything I tell him....... any of you true machinists intersted?...of course the answer is yes for price right?? | ||

You are correct in saying "for a price". I wish I could make everything somebody asks me but unfortunately other people are paying me a good money to write and edit code . If I had the time I would love to help. But any down time is spent on my own obsessive compulsive projects. Or my 3 children. So, yes for a price . Pay me for the afternoon and anything you want will be yours. | ||

Depends on the parts and complexity, what is it you need? Some guy wanted me to makes some "quicky parts" for him, I got the drawings and it was titanium brackets requiring several set ups. Sure ill spend another 4 hours a day making your quickie parts for $nothing per hour. | ||

Nothing at home. But, my company employs one other person besides me so it is kinda like home. We have 5 manual lathes,1 cnc, 1 cnc mill, a horizontal mill, and a manual mill. As well as anything else you would expect for a full service machine shop. | ||

I would like to have a set of triple trees or at least the top plate, standard buell rake that have the standard cradle that will accept a 1 1/8 bar that the base of the cradle is about an inch higher than stock and the top of the cradle still shaped to accept the stock instrument mount plate at the correct angle. I bought the blocks that sit in the stock top triple tree that adapt the tree to an 1 1/8 bar but they dont have the correct top block to accept the gauge plate, you have to mount the cradle then the plate, so it ends up being multiple pieces stacked together. I think the Ducati monster bars from the newer bikes would be a perfect set-up, my buddy rides an s4rs and i keep eyeballing the bars thinking they would work great on the s1 but I dont want it to look cobbled together, so a new tree. at least the top and set up to accept the 1 1/8 bars without additional pieces bolted in to adapt it. Ive got another piece Im working with a different machinist but its taken a year for something I consider to be very easy and its bordering on rediculous....so gonna give him another few weeks then source it out to someone else.... Ive got all the pieces, an extra gauge mount plate, an extra top tree, 1 1/8 bars, and even the adapter blocks to use for some measurements.....it would help mock it all up and I would ship it all out to help with measurements and mock up if an estimate seemed fair.... | ||

Nice for you thy , thats a heavy duty mill. I'm sure after spending 8 to 10 hours a day, the last thing you think about is spending more time on the machine for other projects. |
