I just replaced the starter clutch on my M2, which required removing and replacing the Primary Cover. I have a service manual, it reminded me of things I wouldn't have thought of, like loosening the primary chain adjuster. And I needed it for the Torque values. One thing I suggest is trace the new gasket on a piece of cardboard, and as you take out the bolts, put them in their respective spot on the gasket trace. (That would have saved ME lots of time.) Lot of unbolting and bolting, but nothing too tricky. There's several previous discussions about it, as you might expect. Try a search, or browse the Knowledge Vault. Here's a recent one, for example: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/682131.html?1338681732 (Message edited by jayvee on June 07, 2012) |

It's pretty easy. You can use the S1 service manual located in the knowledge vault as well. Primary is the same on all the tube framed Buells. |

Follow Buellistic's advice on primary chain and drive belt tension. Doing it right can help keep your bike on the road a lot longer. |
