The brake lever on my X1W is bent from when my friends (the previous owners) dropped it in the drive way. I hadn't really worried about it before because mechanically it still worked fine, it's just a bit ugly. I was thinking about upgrading the grips to the think gel style also found on American Sportbike. Since I was going to be ordering parts I thought I might just go ahead and get a replacement brake lever. Then I saw the faux CF ones. What is the opinion on these? GTG, should I just stick with OEM, or find something else? | ||

I bought some, doubt if they 'fool' anybody, but I just think they look cool. The prices reflect their complexity. Brake side is adjustable with little wheels, it costs double. The clutch side is as good as anybody, one solid piece, but the adjuster on the brake side broke when I accidentally parked my bike by laying it on the tarmac. I bent the clutch lever (didn't break!) by repeating this performance to the other side. I put on a non-adjustable regular lever on the brake side, while I consider the replacement. I'd much rather have a non-adjustable faux-carbon one, but haven't found it. | ||

I would totally go with the faux Cf levers AL has. I have had them on for years. The best thing is the FINGER NOTCHES built into them and the thickness of them. They give a nice robust "full" hand feeling. I love them. One vibrated and fell apart but AL was able to get me a replacement under warranty. GO AL!!  You can see the finger notches a little in this pic.   | ||

I put the ASV CNC levers on all three of my Buells, really like them! great shape, fit my hands, good feedback...great levers! the place I buy them from sells them for 200.00 a set. I like them well enough I have 4 sets now..(Triumph Thruxton has a set as well) damn..just did the math! the forged set is a little cheaper... | ||

Those were Tourmaster brand Clubman's, I think, available on e-bay sometimes and through various online and catalog parts suppliers as well. They were the cheap one's without any cross hatching on the grip ends or center for the clamp to get a good hold of... Sorry if they were trash Russ. Beauty bike man, those levers really look sharp. I always thought they were basic slim lined ones like the stock parts but those do look more comfortable and solid than OEM. | ||

The clip-ons are vortex brand. They weren't to bad...They just were way to low to even use them properly. They made track days hell and made the bike handle kind of wobbly. |
