Hi, can anyone tell me the correct way to adjust the front and rear shocks on an X1? I dont want to start turning screws without knowing what I'm doing. I do about 50/50 two-up and single rider and want a happy medium.. Thanx |

Here is a guide I found that seems to condense all of the information I find scattered about into one nice article. http://aprilia.rsvmille.home.comcast.net/~aprilia. rsvmille/bikes/suspension_guide.htm As for changing between single and two-up riding I don't like to ride single with a compromise setup. Instead I take five minutes before a two-up ride to increase the preload on my rear-shock. For my M2, and since were two full-sized adults, I give it all the pre-load I have to give it. Whenever you increase the preload, you should increase the damping, so I turn the damping screw up 1/4 to 1/2 turn. When I switch back to single riding I return the preload back to the original setting and decrease my damping back to the original setting. I leave the front settings alone. I have experimented with an in between setting so I don't have to change between single and two-up riding and it just makes it suck for both. I don't think there can be a compromise. I'm not an expert or even very experienced so I can't say if this is all correct. It seems to work well for me. |
