hello my m2 cyclone backfires out carb once in a while when cold what could that be ? | ||

Intake seals. Then they must seal when it warms up. | ||

The cv carb is known to "cough" at bit when transitioning from idle to increasing throttle however raising the needle slightly with a thin washer, adjusting the air/fuel mixture etc can greatly decrease this. It is also more prevalent when the engine has not warmed up. As stated, intake seals need to be replaced occasionally and are also something to consider. I find they show up when even when the engine is warmed up and especially when rolling on throttle or at high revs. They allow the engine to suck air (not through the carb) and create a lean issue. Let us know what you find. If the carb is stock, I would do some basic adjustments first to see if that helps. | ||

+1 If you have good intake seals and a properly jetted carb you will not get a "cough". My CV 40 took some time to get just right but now it is great. Buellistic (LaFayette)has some good tips on sorting out a CV 40. Send him a PM or do a search. | ||
