Here's the short. I have been doing some mods to my M2. I slapped a set of Billet 2 race bars on my bike and dual front disks with two 6 pot calipers. Yes, the "for race use only" stamped on the caliper bracket. The bars will not allow me to install the OEM style 1/2" master I have for the kit and have room for the other controls. I want to know what sized radial master i need to use on the bike so I can gain room for my controls. Price is a factor but I know it's not going to be cheap. Ant ideas? |

Get another handlebar 4 hole clamp and have a machinist mill the top side off which then becomes a 3/4 inch spacer ... Did this on my bike and it made the comfort level better, "BUT" in your case it should correct your problem ... |

Not really into machining anything. I really want my stock throttle to be there with a radial master. Nor do I want to change the bars in any way. Does anyone have a radial or know enough about them so I can select the right size and brand? |

Master on the left and mounting block from the bar clamp on the right. No room for the master as it sits. Pic taken from the front of bike. |

IMHO, this is what would work ... Measure for the additional length you need to get to the end of the throttle adding and additional inch to be rounded off to protect the end of the throttle which will press into the handlebar ... Do the same thing on the left side(match the right handlebar length) so it matches ... |

I found a tutorial on radial masters here: http://www.oppracing.com/pages/articles_brembo_mas ter_cylinders/ Looks like they are suggesting a 19mm for dual disc street setups. Found these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Brombo-Forged-Ra dial-Front-Brake-Master-Cylinder-19MM-Dimension-/3 20800293775?hash=item4ab130038f&item=320800293775& pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr |

I did some measuring and I need an additional 2 inches to run with the stock style master. Looks like the radial is the way to go. The only thing I'm concerned about it the fact that most dual caliper setups are of the four pot variety and my bike is six per caliper (the stock nissin type). |

The dimension that matters here is the total surface area of the pistons in the calipers. Not just the number of pistons. Hydraulic force: P1V1 = P2V2 |

Natexlh, you are right But i'm taking a shot in the dark to see if anyone has done this. From my understanding, there are very few tubers with the race only dual disk kit on them so I didn't really expect much. The master that came with the kit is a 5/8" master (the one in the pic) vs the 1/2" standard. |
