Hello, I'm thinking about a Buell for my next bike. Does the S3T sit upright? If not, can you add risers to make it so? It wasn't listed at motorcycle-ergos.com Thanks. |

I just bought a 2000 s3t, im 6-2 and i find i leaning forward a bit. If i ride the bike with no seat on its perfect. I ordered the 1 inch riser from american sport bike, hopefully that helps, im also going to order the seat from corbin. I think with those two changes that it will be perfect for me. |

"i" am 6'3" and the OEM handlebars were perfect when "i" loosened the 4 allan screws and correctly adjusted them ... The same thing applies to the clutch and front brake LEVERS ... "AND" do not forget the gear shift lever so everything is correct ... (Message edited by buellistic on February 27, 2012) |

How does this look? My 99 seams to be pretty upright and comfortable.

Perfect! haha I've been vacillating between sport-tourers and standards, and this looks like both. :-D (but w/ grunt) I've seen them for @3000, but this is the only CL one left in my area. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/search/mca?query=buell+s3t&srchType=A&minAsk=1000&maxAsk= Seems high? Russ, you will want the wide lids if you plan on doing any traveling on the bike. |

I've been looking at 00-02 M2's & S3's and am a bit confused. I've read some stuff that says they're low maintenance. hydraulic lifters, drive belts, etc.. Other reports say they terrible. The vibration breaks wires, mufflers, etc.. Have you ever had your Buell leave you stranded? |

Not yet, but I've only had it a few weeks and ridden it less than 300 miles. Mine is currently at the HD dealership having a 5000 mile service done on it in hopes of staying ahead of the curve on the maintenance. I considered a 2004 Honda VFR w/6000 miles, but bought a Buell because of the riding position, the performance, the sound and because I'd always wanted one; I did a post called What to buy: Honda or Buell, check it out. I knew going in that the Buell would require more care and attention than the Honda, but the Buell speaks to every reason I wanted a motorcycle; fun, passion, coolness, and mileage (55mpg). The Buells are not maintenance free bikes, but make up for it in so many other ways. Ride one and you'll be hooked. |

Has mine left me stranded? Not once, and that includes a coast to coast trip recently that I didn't think twice about. Is it low maintenance? It's currently in my garage with the engine half torn apart, so you be the judge. To be fair, once they're sorted they are reliable machines. |
