Well , just dropped her off for the ole state inspection and they say I need new front and rear tires. I'm not looking to break my bank here...any suggestions? PS: it puked out the trans vent tube at highway speeds again. Not as much this time, havnt had a chance to open up the crank case yet.....hoping they will let me know after this inspection. | ||

Depends on your riding. I mostly commute mine, so I prefer the dual comp tires. I used to run Metzeler Roadtec Z6's but found them to be a little too hard and gave a little sometimes when cornering. A friend of mine who commutes a Honda had the same experience. We both switched to Michelin PR2's and found them to stick a bit better. I was getting about 10-12k miles out of the rears and a little more on the fronts with the Metzelers. Haven't worn out the Michelins yet, but looks like I might get the same. | ||

Mark, I found it depends if you bring them the removed wheel or if they have to take it off the bike. Locally there is a place that charges $25 if you bring them the wheel. Others charge $85 and up to take it off the bike and put it back on. | ||

Go with a name brand sport touring tire in the proper size (170/60 on the back) and you'll get the best bang for your buck as far as long wearing tires go. There are some Shenko (shinko?), or Cheng-Shin tires in a similar tread to the original D205's. I was happily surprised when I started trying other than stock tires on my Cyclone. Don't waste money on super sport/sport tires. The new sport touring tires from Pirelli, Michelin, Avon, Bridgestone, Continental... They're all pretty good. Now that they've got the Power Road 3's you can probably get the PR2's for a pretty good price by just shopping your price a little bit. The Conti Road Attacks did great for wear on my Cyclone, they weren't as compliant but felt better than the Pirelli Scorpion Sync's. Handled just fine on the race track. I'd like to try the PR2's, will probably go that route when the current D207's wear out, unless I find a screaming deal on some other tire in the right size. I ran a Cheng-shins on my old Suzuki GS, mostly because they were the cheapest and I kept running over nails. They handled fine in the canyon. I was out-riding the suspension before I ever ran out of tire, never felt like I did that except under extreme braking. | ||

Both my X1's have Dunlop SportMax tires. Good wear for mildly aggressive rider. | ||

I have Dunlop Roadsmart on my M2, the next one I'd like to try is the Conti Sport Attack, they have good reviews. I think if you get any 'reputable' brand, there is somebody who thinks those are the "best". I doubt if there is a real "best", just opinions, and biases. | ||

Ok so I looked online at this site and found a pair of Dunlop Q2 Sportmax 120/70zr17 and 170/60 zr17.....both of them together for $200.00 to my door for $220.00 Here is the link to my cart.... https://www.denniskirk.com/shopping_cart/cart.jsp Has anybody had any experience with these?
