Or am I a Buelligan? Either way, thanks for making me feel welcome here. I got some questions about my Cyclone. 1) I need to reseal the front forks. Are the parts readily available from HD? How difficult is it to do? What is the recommended fork oil weight? 2) I need to reseal the rear rockerbox. Once again, are the parts readily available from HD, difficulty, etc... Thanks for your help! |

Parts for both are available from a good Buell dealer don't know about those in your area. Fork parts are available from American Sport Bike a sponsor on this website. Several of the good dealers are also sponsors here. The engine gaskets are the same as Sportster gaskets of the same year. You will need to get a service manual for your bike a parts manual will also be handy. Last but not least welcome to BadWeb. |

Forks - 41mm standard Showa's, not cartridge or anything like that. Rockers, might as well do them both, if one has given up the other is probably on its way out. You have to remove the tank to get at them. It's not terrible but you'll want a manual, or search the knowledge vault, and see if we've got pictures of the project here. Use the Goolge tool for that rather than this site's search tool, it will search further back. Also, there is a S1 service manual posted on the site, it should be the same for rockers as the M2's project (you can use this for your transmission needs too). It's in the KV under manuals, down towards the bottom, here's a link to make it easy: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/Manuals/S1_1 996-1997_Service/intro.pdf Welcome to badweb. |

According to the Race Tech web site, they recommend 5 weight oil. Here it is.:

UPDATE: Due to weather, school, and other commitments, I haven't had a chance to ride the bike properly. I did reseal the forks though. Pics soon. |

I gets cold in Albequerque? Sorry you haven't been able to enjoy riding your bike yet, though if you like wrenching, you can enjoy getting to know it that way. Glad you got the forks done... you can ride with leaky rocker boxes, it's just messy, especially if it's an old paper gasket - those leak bad. |
