Old owner put "Taylor RevTech" flourecent orange plug wires on my X1. Theyre not my style! So I started looking for simple black ones but now Im noticing that the coil end has a really small (not standard) connector on it. Where do I get plug wires for this? American Sport Bike dosnet show any, Ebay just lists all there wires a fitting, LOL. Even the buell listed ones w/ pics look like that connector is the standard larger one. Is there a current Harley set that will work? thanks for any help. Jeff |

well...do you have a stock coil? That's an important little piece of information there... |

Im assuming so, but we know what happens when you assume. Are the metal "towers" inside a fuel injected Buells coil smaller Dia than the other bikes? jeff |

Yeah, I found out the expensive way that the wires are not all the same. Near as I can tell, as far as tube frames, the fuel injected is different from the carb. That's as close as I can narrow it down so far. I have about 4 "extra" sets remaining, but for an M2 with Dyna-Coil. I had to buy yellow ones! I like the color accent in the engine bay. |

I had a hell of a time trying to get wires for my S3 (should be the same as your X1). I ended up just cleaning and sealing the old ones because I was leaving for a trip. Someday if I come across a set I'll grab them. In the meantime, if they work, how about just wrapping them in electrical tape or something? |

Two seasons - I hate the dealership, but I did go there the other day for exhaust gaskets and plug wires (had to, had a gift card). I had them pull out a set of those wires and the coil end would have been too big in diameter. Jayvee- Xl1200r- Glad Im not the only thats having trouble finding wires. I was thinking of uncrimping the coil connectors from the Taylor wires and just using them to build a black set. jeff |
