I know I've never formally introduced myself and instead went straight into questions, apologies. I'll brief everyone after this important message from Long Beach... Anyone on BadWeb attending? This is supposed to be a pretty huge event. From my (more) experience going to car shows, I tend to have nearly as much fun picking out nice rides in the parking lot as I do walking through the gates. Would be cool to see a few Buells in the lot. (I'm sure there will be.) Anyway here's the skinny for anyone interested: http://www.motorcycleshows.com/longbeach As for me; I'm 36, former Jarhead, in the computer biz (as seen on TV SHtuff, Branding/Marketing/Tech Dev), live in South OC, and always down to ride pretty much wherever. Haven't had a bike since '95 and 3 of 3 of my cars are either not running or out of state. So I'm 100% on this bike at the moment. That'll have to suffice as an 'intro' or it'll start sounding like an online dating ad; not gonna' do it! Thanks all in advance for the info- I've been a lurker here for a long time and now that I'm breaking (er, riding) I've now got a reason to post! -D |

I'll be there Friday and Saturday, though I won't be riding (too far to ride in sub-freezing temps coming home--I'm in Palmdale). If this is your first year, yes the parking lot is half the show. It rotates every few hours so I make my way out there a couple of times each day. You should also come prepared for test rides. CanAm, Harley, Yamaha and Kawasaki will be offering test rides this year (per the website). Test rides at the Long Beach show is exactly where I was introduced to Buell. |

This sounds amazing- Update to my other post though; the Buell is dead as far as I can tell (zero knowledge of these motors) and I've no other transportation (within a few hundred miles of me; all up north) at the moment, ouch. So NEXT year will be my first year, lol. I'd say this w'end is all about learning to rebuild a V-Twin, but I'm now in an apartment. Me thinks they'd frown on that. (Just pulling the exhaust turned some heads.) |
