Hello: I am the original owner of a 99 M2 Cyclone with 10k miles. For the last couple of months, I have noticed, that while cruising between 3k and 4k rpm. The tach will sometimes intermittently bounce. Even though I am maintaining a steady throttle. Sometimes the bike will miss fire when this happens. About a year ago, it left me stranded on the road. Trouble shooting that problem, turned out to be a loose Ignition Relay wire. I also replaced the coils, while doing the trouble shooting/repair. Could I have a possible electrical problem? Or could it be a fuel issue. I am running a Pingel fuel tap with an in line filter, and the tank vent hose checks ok. Any help would be appreciated. |

Any carb mods Clark? My CA model Cyclone was set up pretty lean (stock), I wonder if upping your "slow" jet to a 45 and shimming your needle a bit would resolve your stutter... my bike was jetted lean enough that here at elevation it would stall out on the interstate due to excess heat. The thing would ping like crazy if I was running at steady throttle, to the point where the head-temp sensor was shutting it down. I'm not much help for you if it's electrical. My profile has the general info on how my carb is set up though, if you want to try that for cheap fixes. That slow jet is only a few dollars at the HD dealership, and if they don't have stainless washers for shimming the needle you can get them at a model toy store. |
