Great idea but one has to be a sponsor to sell their wares here,so building/selling say 20 brackets for $30 a piece and if all sold in a years time still won't pay the sponsorship let alone allow the person doing it to make a buck or two. | ||

Sorry you didn't like what I posted but I Honor Blake's rules unlike some others here, not that I agree with the sponsorship ones. I would gladly make a lot of many things asked for here on a onezee twozee piece work or percentage basis but its no go. Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Ride safe and keep the grin. James | ||

Matrim designed a fix for the gas cap, for when they strip out, and there was a lot of discussion regarding sponsorship vs. part cost for a group just to keep our bikes going. I'll find that thread and post a link, just because the situation was similar. Very specialized parts, to keep these old tubers on the road. I believe that may have been Frank's intention. I think his offer was an excellent one. | ||

That looks like a pretty simple part. I have a friend who could probably knock those out and maybe improve the design. Did these have any cracking issues? If you could get me some pics next to a tape measure I could ask him. If he is interested maybe you could get that part to me. Happy to check with him and see if its feasible. | ||

From previous threads, they did seem to crack sometimes, and even break. Many threads in the past about re-designs, and ideas. We should collect the drawings and pictures into one place for reference. | ||

I saw the one photo on the M2 thread Littlebuggles linked to. Just a thought... what about a solid chunk of machined billet aluminum? No ears on the shoe, one solid piece filling the gap between the Y bracket ears. So vibration does not eat the aluminum at the top bolt a steel sleeve could be pressed in. I am not an mechanical or structural engineer but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. | ||

I've been trying to buy one to send to a site sponsor who agreed to take a look at one and then consider if he would make them. So far no luck buying one. If anyone is willing to sell me one, then it might help us all eventually. I would even pay shipping on a used/broken one to see if this can work. Anyone? | ||

Dynosaur, It would be nice to have your to copy...but honestly...I live in Italy and only to receive and give it back to you will take months (not even counting the high probability of loosing it in some custom)!!! If you could send me a drowning with the measures it will be perfect. Otherwise I will wait for someone in US reproducing it and sell it to me. | ||
