They are 1/4-20, I bought a box of them from a fastener specialty shop for my fenders and body work a couple years ago when I couldn't get them at the lowes or home depot. They are for the T27 fasteners that usually run a black nylon washer under them. Parts book lists a PN as - M0705.3 My windscreen uses a much smaller well nut though, M0602.0 it's a 8-32 (x3/4" length), there's not a description of the well nut specifically. Check your screw length and see if it matches. A lot of hardware on these various models came from the same parts bins. (Message edited by littlebuggles on August 31, 2011) |

Don't forget to lube the screws a little to avoid the brass corroding. I've lost a few to that. |

I have little to add, much of the information is here already BUT I would say to, if you can, avoid lowes when it comes to hardware, they are usually pretty steep on the pricing. See if you have a local hardware store or Automotive Fastners etc near you You'll come out cheaper on these things Example: When I needed to buy wellnuts for my firebolt windscreen (was putting the firebolt nose on my S3)- dealer was at about 3 bucks a pop lowes at 2 bucks each hardware store was sitting around 80c each. |
