Getting ready for a cross country ride and I think it's the perfect excuse to put together a compact "essentials" toolkit (for an X1). I spent the last hour searching around/reading, but didn't find anything particularly authoritative. If not a prioritized list of most useful to least useful tools, does anyone know if there's a comprehensive list of all the tools necessary? Thanks! |

Cool, thanks Two_seasons. Any idea if there's a listing of the wrench/Torx/hex sizes anywhere? I didn't find it in the manual. |

I should be able to get some ratchet straps to fit it on the pillion, right?

Rent a small trailer and put everything pictured above in there...You never know if you decide to upgrade to a 1250 kit half way though your trip. Enjoy. |

Print out the Bran list for the places you are going through. Get on that sucker and enjoy your trip. Don't over think this trip, it will drain you and you'll not enjoy what you have around you. Did I ever tell you how to save a buck by sleeping behind dumpsters in industrial parks? |

Haha, yeah I'm obviously joking... I'm trying to pack as light as possible, which is why I was hoping to find a prioritized list of most useful to least useful wrenches/torx/etc. I'll do it the old fashioned way and dig through my stuff to find what undoes what and pack it light. Won't have enough time to be super comprehensive, but I'll be happy to report back at end of trip if I come up w/ anything useful (or leave anything obvious behind). As always, really appreciate everyone's encouragement and advice! (Message edited by buellrobot on August 20, 2011) |
