iv got around 1600mi (12 mo) on my rear tire, Dunlop Sport max and the cord is showing threw!!!
is this normal for moderate riding?
And NO i havent ever burned out!
with that now im wondering what tire would be a better replacement.
im in a VERY wet environment so its gotta be good on water.

I cant say from personal experience but that sounds way too fast to wear out. You sure gremlins aren't doing burnouts while you are away?

That sounds ridiculous. The 1600 mile part, not the gremlins.

Had the same exact thing just happen with mine. Same tire. About 2k at most, no burnouts, about 75% highway and the center blistered for about 3/4 of the circumference, and then showed the beginning of the cord.

Changed it out immediately with a Pirelli Angel ST in 180-55.

If you do alot of straightline/highway riding switch to a dual compound tire! I went with Dunlop RoadSmarts and love them... will likely put them on my 1125 as well!

I recently put a Michelin Pilot Road 3 on the M2 and it has been great. Multiple compound tires can really give the best of both worlds in my opinion.

I would bet that your rear tire isn't lining up perfectly with your front tire. I have the same tires with about 1500 miles on them and the look brand new.

Depends on rider and conditions. I've toasted the sides of a tire in a few hours in twistys in less than two tanks of fuel. Middle looked new.
