Made me wait long enough to see the hidden rear caliper you made awhile back. Been waiting for something on that! Good job man, very well done. When's the motor getting done? (Message edited by brinnutz on August 07, 2011) |

thanks all- Planning on doing the XB top end this winter along with a few other litttle things. Right now I just want to ride. I did everything on the bike myself from the paint and powdercoating to the machining and welding (except the pulley). I did all the cad and design, just had a friend cnc it. I like the xb wheels on the tuber what's involved in doing that? |
Purpony

xb wheel swap involves the following- -custom rear wheel spacers (pretty simple to machine) -mill a little off the factory rear caliper bracket -XB rear rotor -XB rear pulley (or weld in the holes on the tuber pulley and redrill to the XB bolt pattern For the front- -03-04 XB forks (to fit into your X1 triple) You will need to use clip ons because the fork tubes need to be still far up and will hit the handlebars) or use XB triples with an X1 stem. XB front caliper and rotor and of course XB wheels. |

I have old photos of your bike saved to my computer. I thought you were crazy to change it, it was gorgeous. Well, you've one-upped yourself. This version is even better. |

Looks awesome Purpony! Very clean work. That B2R rear brake pedal sure looks slick! Are those Pilot Road 2's? I love my Supertrapp muffler, great sound and good power... You've got the older generation unit, you know to keep an eye on the clamps where the elbow goes into the can don't you? You'll learn to pole vault that wonderful bike if those clamps shake loose. |

Yes and yes Pilot Road 2 tires and older supertrapp. I bought the muffler on ebay a few years back for $60 shipped. I made the elbow. I have been thinking about welding a small tab on the front top of the muffler and putting a safety wire attached from the muffler to the bottom of the engine just in case or either get a force system or have even been thinking of getting a stainless magnaflow muffler. Its the same size as my supertrapp and see what that sounds like. |

thanks- so far the only engine mods are updates... updated oil pump gear, updated primary shoe... and of course, muffler, air filter, and race tune. Planning on XB9 pistons/jugs/heads, a set of cams, and a custom tune over the winter. Also looking to upgrade to a works or penske rear shock. |

Purpony, Yw.... outstanding job well done.... this is deserving of 1300cc+ build -- I did very mild top and bottom end work and ended up with 108rwHP and 92 ft-lbs torque with only a 1250cc kit, SE Cams, SE Roller Rockers, Stage III XL Heads/XB Rockerboxes, and Carb Conversion. -- of course I did extensive oiling reworking (in the case) and windage tray tricks, ceramic bearings and only use 2.0 qts oil... so I am picking up good fat and flat torque/hp curves. |
