Hey guys! I'm brand new to the forum. Great stuff by the way. I recently bought a bone stock 2000 S3. I'm not too keen for the shape of the tail section. Does anyone have any knowledge about a swap for another tail, say... an M2? Pics would be a great help too! Thanks in advance

A M2 tail section does fit. The license plate holder requires a little work but nothing much. The hardest part about the whole thing is finding a M2 tail section in good shape and finding one that is a perfect color match to whatever color you have is almost impossible.
It is going to require a repaint, which means new decals. You also need a new seat, the S3 seat doesn't even come close to fitting a M2 tail.
Fairly simple to do but time consuming and a little expensive. A tail section in good shape will be about 200, the seat could be as much as 400(Corbin). Decals 75ish, good paint job 1000 maybe more. So you could very easily have close to 2 grand into a tail swap project.
I don't have any pictures yet, I'm still deciding on a color. Good Luck.

You could probably get a cheaper paint job, but then it looks like a cheaper paint job. I'm also talking about repainting the entire bike. I think my estimation of 1000 is a little low 1500 may be more accurate.

I have a 99 S3 and I took the stock plate holder off because of stress cracks and it was making noises, I bent a pc of 16 ga aluminum for plate and looks 1000 times better
