There's at least one brand new Vance & Hines for an S2 on eBay right now.. Saw them the other day. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=buell+s2+vance+%2 6+hines&_sacat=0&_odkw=s2+vance+%26+hines&_osacat= 0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 |

Why would you change an exhaust that they went to so much trouble to engineer? My S2 has a Supertrapp on it and it's embarrassingly loud when on the throttle. I'm looking for a clean, stock original can for it. |

I'll take that horrid, crappy stocker off your hands for you... |

Yeah, I kinda' feel the same way; I'm also looking for a stocker. If not for the fear of a stock muffler cracking and leaving me with no exhaust (no clue if that fear is real or imagined), I'd offer to trade the Supertrapp right now. Tell ya' what: if your muffler is stock and undamaged, I'll gladly give you $150 for it and you can buy the Vance & Hines on ebay right now (item: 150640869980). |

Well, well, well... You guys are really convincing ! After all, I won't trade my stocker for an After market, I will respray it or having it chromed since it's in pretty good condition. |

I have had a bunch of exhaust over the years on my other tubers. The VH sound great, but broke a lot. I have a supertrapp on my S2.........37k miles and haven't had to even tighten the bolts in years. I am "redoing" the bike and putting a 2 1/2" set up to use a NEW supertrapp. Just my 2 cents. Ride safe........Jack |

Greg, how many discs on your supertrapp, and is there an end cap? I'm curious - last time I fired up my bike that has a 'trapp, it was a monster (way too loud), but w/o end cap, and with something crazy like 24 discs!!! It came that way. Dyno be damned, I'll gladly give up some hp for a reasonable exhaust note. |

I don't have a clue how many discs are in there. I truly need to check the packing and play with the discs (only recently bought the bike and this is what it had). I will reluctantly admit that I like the way it looks on the bike: very close to my RS1200. (Message edited by greg_cifu on August 05, 2011) |

What a looker!!! I think in '95-'96, a lot of guys went for the Supertrapp because they liked the look, and maybe the sound, too, of it better than the stock muffler. I do wish the 'trapp were quieter. |

Mine has 20 disks. First time I have dealt with the exhaust system on this bike if 12 yrs. It is by FAR the quietest Buell I have had. Very quite...........(I know this is subjective)......by my standards. Just remove disks and repack the baffle and it will quite down. The FAQ section on their web site is very good......with videos. I just ordered a new 2 1/2 inch trapp to go with my "new" SW1 2 1/2......(S2 look alike).... header. The order guy says 8 weeks maybe, as they have to do a separate run. |
