I'm going to wire in a 12v outlet to run my accessories on my 01x1.

Are there extra keyed 12v wires up front, or am I going to have to splice into something else?

I'd like a clean install rather than that solution if possible.

thanks

james

You can buy a 12v outlet that wires directly to the battery terminals. No need to splice anything. Just remember to unplug stuff when you turn the bike off.

There is a 15amp accessories fuse but I'm not sure where you'd pick it up on the front end of the X1 Lightning.

However, you do have the "position" or parking lamp as some call it available up front. And it's controlled by the ignition switch.

I'm not sure how much amps it will support, but if all you're doing with it is flea power (GPS and the like) there shouldn't be any issues.

At connector 38, there is an orange/white wire that you could connect to. I could not find that connection location in the manual, but my guess is that it's the ignition switch connector.

For light loads, like a gps, you could sneak a wire off the headlight. But you will loose it when the high beam is on.

I wouldnt run heated gear that way though.

I power my gps from the cluster lights wire, up front that follows the switch, its orange with white tracer.

If I wanted to plug in heated gear up front I would get a 20A fused relay feed it from the battery and control it from the ignition feeds up front red with black from key

please confirm colors as I am not looking at the FSM..
