"PM" mE InSTRUtiONs "available" upon request! On a serious note, I used two or three small wood screws, evenly spaced, get a thread or two in and pull out. |

Shane lost his muffler on I90 around Sioux Falls SD. I bet he is real popular with the Harley crowd about now. |

I didn't just lose it, I ran over it And then a semi ran over it. I made a new one in the parking lot of o'reillys in the shade from their sign. It is 18" of 2" pipe reduced at the end to 1-3/4, then to 1-1/2 and held up with a hanger strap. The old setup didn't have a chance on piece-0-shit excuse for pavement they call I-90 through Minnesota. In lavurne MI at the cozy rest inn. |

Nice ride today...I "guess" the stator is putting out. Swung down to Janesville/Monroe Wi........(I was in both towns till 10 yrs old)...checked out the "old" houses, school ect......my grandmothers house is now a parking lot. Ate in the old Monroe town square and then north to Eau Claire Wi. On to Fargo tomorrow......(cooler up that way.......(maybe). It only got in the high 80's/low 90's.... Buffalo......these pants work fine in he heat. Shane..love the "muffler".....very good on the road fix!!! Do you have ear plugs?? Ride safe........Jack |

Shane, You better patent that pipe. It is probably quieter than some of the blooey pipes on the market that sell for big bucks. You will have to plate it yellow though so people know it was designed by you Ed |

Earplugs always Jack, mainly for wind noise. Beautiful morning, on the road at 5:00am, perfect in the high 60's Crossing South Dakota might swing down through the Badlands. Shane |

Only about 1,500 mi to go.... |

Shane..........were are you??? Frank......Have you recovered?? Ed........Bike is still running well. Everyone else......Hi. Went south from Bismark and followed it Louis/Clark "trail"Pulled in at Cannon Ball.......(got to love the name).....only a few houses and a sorta store. I told the gal I was going across to Bowman and showed her the route. She said that they will all turn into gravel roads. So I kept going South on the LC trail. About 15 miles from SD I get a front flat. The valve stem is leaking where it comes out of the rim.......(a small crack in the rubber). I pull into a government building........FIRST CLASS 3 bay repair shop, for the Indians to keep the school buses running. Thank you federal government. We.......myself and the lone guy working there at the time, jack the S2 up by the front mount on the rear shock, get the wheel off. He had a huge tire changer ....breaks the bead and swaps the stem for a new one. Put the wheel back on, bleed the brakes and I'm on my way. He says how about $10.00......I gave him tightly rolled $100.00 bill and told him #10.00 was fine. He stuck it in his pocket without looking. Took 12 all the way to Bowman.........very, very little traffic, but a pretty OK road. Ride safe...Jack |

Shane, I told ya we should have fixed the exhaust when you were here! Great to hear everyone is either home or well on the way. Ride safe guys, I'm gonna hang with you next year if it kills me.. My neighbors thought Frank, Jack and Shane were the coolest thing. When I told them about Jack's "vintage" and told them where he and ridden from they couldn't believe it. Jack, your an inspiration for all of us! Brad |

Brad, one of the highlights of my trip was working on my bike in your garage with the constant flow of people coming and going. Jack, is the goal to replace everything on the bike by the time you get home? I know it must feel like that. I wish I was stil lout there with you but do enjoy you pictures and commentary. Frank |

Coming off 191 out of Yellowstone onto I90 to Lolo and HWY12. Siphoned a pint of oil from the primary this morning and that helps. Got stuck in a herd of bison before dawn, moms and calf's,got a little dicey. |

Made it to Roundup Mt.........sorta uneventful.......not counting a stop about 20 miles from Bowman. The cars/trucks are stopped on 12...flag lady comes up and says we have to wait for the pilot truck to take up single file through 5 miles of mud, or take a 30+ mile detour around it. Not wanting the front fender to get packed and lock up the front wheel, I did the detour. Great roads lots of twistys and up/down hills. 12 is a pretty good route......too much straight stuff, but a nice ride. No traffic......just a car/truck every now and then. Perfect weather. Supposed to head back up to the 90's tomorrow. Shane.....I should be in Lolo in a few days....gunna stop in Townsend for a day. Brad.......I spent many, many an evening...(or all night).....working on cars/mc's, people dropping by. I have not done that in years.....it was great doing it again, THANKS !! Frank....never even thought of it that way......just need a Buell store in every town. Ride safe.........Jack |
