I couldn't justify spending $400 on a D&D so this is what i came up with, the only thing i want to change is the front elbow and get a mandrill bent one.

It sounds great, louder then a V&H probably not a loud as a D&D. I welded tabs on so it is bolted up to the stock mounts. |

Please let us know if your welds hold up. I keep breaking my clamps and welds, using car exhaust clamps and hangers. I bet is sounds great. Let us know if we can hear it on youtube! |

im a welder.. and if your welds keep breaking that means your not getting enough penatration onto the metal, welds should not crack or break if they do its not a good weld, |

I suggest a safety wire just in case. I was fabbing up a chopped cherry bomb and got it close to completion when I read of someone on here having his improvised muffler fall off in the front, causing a POLE-VAULT! This scared me away. I ended up just brazing new mounting hardware to my old "daytona boss" muffler. To that end, I would like to offer advice for welding up the mounting tabs to prevent stressing the header studs. I installed mine and tacked the mounting tabs in place, defining the geometry. then take it back off and weld the crap out of it for strength. You probably already did that |

That is going to take away low end torque. And i bet it lasts 600 miles before it blows the guts out of it, canister and all. I have seen a properly built exhaust can disintegrate in 500 miles. Good luck with that and be careful! And the D&D full system is sooooooo worth the $400. It can be taken apart into 3 separate pieces and this way you can take the exhaust system of the bike without taking any other thing off the bike to get it off. The factory header and a supertrapp can is the economical and adjustable system......But very very heavy. I had a V&H ssr2 CF it was the best slip on i ever had i loved it! And it went 525 miles and fell apart

The cf exhaust can does look sweet but I have story's that they disintegrate in very short time, I look at my welds every time I ride |

I have a cf and made new front and rear brackets after getting the bike. They had both been welded before I got it and both failed. Might need new rivets soon they seem loose. D&D might be next if needed. |
