Well, interesting night for sure! Frank and Shane arrived first and Jack a couple of minutes later. I moved all the "flower stuff" around in the garage so we could get Franks bike on the lift and get to work. First we had to chase down the darn breakers. Had to do a bit of work on them as we could only find the type with mounting tabs. A little cutoff wheel action took care of that... Frank giving the stink eye to the offending parts....
I'm not sure we could have put any more Buell's in the garage last night. How many can you count??
Jack and Shane getting on the soggy slog to Christmas...
Sure hope Frank starts feeling a bit better. Big bummer for sure. Last night was pretty entertaining. First thing everyone wanted to do was "get online". I surprised we didn't brown out the neighborhood from all the electro devices plugged in and recharging. GPS's, phones, iPads, bluetooth headsets, you name it. There was so much beeping, clicking and chiming going on it was kind of funny. We had to go old school on Jacks Thinkpad and use ethernet, the wireless was a bit wonky. Turns out it was my fault, wrong key for the network... As usual when the lights are on in the Crisis Center after dark there is always drop in visitors, some of the neighbors popped in while everyone was wrenching away. Lots of conversation, a bit of beer and lots of laughs, usually at someone elses expense.... Fun stuff, great guests, great neighbors and great times.. Brad |

Mike appears to be packing light these days.... I am glad you all made it. I imagine Jack and Shane will be arriving in a few hours. I am feeling a little better, I was hoping that maybe I could get on the road today and get out of Brad and Jan's hair but I better wait till morning. I am not looking forward to riding by myself after having Shane' and Jack's company for the last few days but that makes it all the more important to arrive tomorrow. Frank |

Shane and I just arrived in Marquette........(long day).....about 40 miles from Christmas. My battery died and I had to get a 140 mile tow. Took hours waiting for the tow truck and the long ride here. There is a HD dealer a few 100 yards away...so first thing in the morning, we will get a battery and be on our way. Frank.....left a message on your cell....what's up Court....thanks in advance!!! Brad...thanks again for the great stay at your place!! Already there guys....see you soon. You other guys.......RIDE SAFE!!! Jack |

Jack,Check your charging system after installing the new battery, it may not be a problem with the battery but with your stator or regulator, be sure to check this while at the HD dealer in Marquette Ed |

Jack, I see that you called but I do not have a message. I figured you were calling to say you arrived. Sorry Jack. Ed is right, it may be your stator so you will want to check the output. |

Frank is on his way. Sneaked out before I even got out of the rack! Pretty quiet that there feller... Didn't even disturb Donny the Wonder Wiener Dog! That's probably because Donny took a liking to Frank. He hung with him most of the day yesterday. I see by his post time he must be at breakfast. Frank, really glad to see you are feeling better. Hope the rest of the journey goes well. It was great that all three of you were able to stop by. It was NO inconvenience at all, in fact Jan thought it was pretty neat.. Have a great time guys!! Remember, it didn't happen if there are no pictures!!!! Me? Off doing final prep for the show tomorrow... Have a great time everyone.. Brad |

Hmmm, I just checked the Frank tracker.. according to the map he's still here at my place! Better go check the garage again... Either that or he didn't turn the GPS tracker on! http://aprs.fi/?call=K0jqz-10&mt=roadmap&z=11&time range=3600 |

Looks like Frank is on the move. So where was Stick Bart in all this motorcycle repair activity? I was sure I would see him in the middle of it. |

Damn Loren! I never even thought of that! We didn't get much chance to "tip the bottle" due to the work and Frank not feeling very well. Since we were not "partaking", Bart thing totally slipped my mind.... Not saying the Bart man imbibes a a bit but........ it MAY have happened a time or two Oh yeah he may have help a time or two as well.... |

Jack, just for grins I pulled the cover of the 30A breaker. What a mess! The contacts are VERY corroded. |

I did make it. The bike did not die however it tried to twice. I will run down the other wire that went to the 30 amp breaker besides the positive battery and starter. If anyone has a schematic it would be great if you could post it so I can run this down. I turned the tracker on somewhere in wi when I was confident the bike was going to make it and I ran it off the internal battery to see how long it would last with the beacon being set to 20 minute intervals. I am still playing arou d with it but this store bought one is much more capable than my homemade job..... Brad and Jan,I cannot thank you enough for taking care of me and your hospitality. Working on the bike in your garage was the most fun I have had in a long time. I do not remembered a time that I laughed that much. Although I enjoy riding by myself I felt strangely allow without Shane and Jack running me down today. I did not have any rain today so I got lucky. Time to relax...... Frank |

Bart, thank you. Thanks for sending that in an email as well. I think that goes in the "keeper" file. I think, after this madness is over I will think about a list of parts I (read that "we") need to have available for repair in a clutch. I got lucky in that I could not have picked a better place to run into trouble with under 100 miles to Brad's flower shop. Btw, I hope you kill them today Brad. Jack is doing a great job of documenting our adventures. I will post pictures upon my return to Colorado but I really look forward to Jack's pictures. I am sitting here drinking coffee and looking t aarking lot filled with S2s....... It just does not get any better. Frank |
