Someone posted awhile back that they were sending their rotor to be resurfaced.
I've not been able to find that post and was wondering how it went?

I resurfaced my rotor myself on my brake lathe and it only stopped the warp for like 2 weeks and it was right back. Also the material on the stock rotor is not the right type of metal to actually re-surface properly. Your better off buying a new after market scalloped rotor that wont warp. Motorcycle rotors are a disposable item and not really meant to be machined down.

Prey,I'm talking about a Braking wave rotor.I've warped every rotor I've ever had on an S2.The original, two different 2000 stainless rotors and the wave rotor.
HD/Buell raised the retail price of the stainless rotor from around $120 to over 300,
around 3 years ago.The aftermarket is the way to go.When I was able to get the factor rotor for $120,I was happy with it.

I didn't buy a rotor for years because it was way over priced! I got one from American Sport Bike and in the packing there was some instructions in german\english and it was saying the rotor will not warp and its guaranteed in north America only.I may be wrong??? Maybe Al will chime in on this.

I have receipts for factory rotors bought in around '01 and again in '04 for in the ballpark of $120.I was working at the dealership in '08 and ordered one. When after two weeks it had not come in I had the receiving guy check it out.It happened that a friend of mine and I ordered the same Buell rotor the same day.It was so rare to see orders for two Buell rotors that the rocket scientist parts manager canceled my order without asking. As the receiving guy was on HD net looking at the part,I was explaining what a great bargin the Buell rotor was compared to the 2 to $300 aftermarket rotors. He's looking at the site and says it doesn't look like much of a bargin to me.Cost had risen to over twice retail. And my purchases were made before I was a dealership employee.
On a side note I never got any paperwork claiming a no warpage guarantee.
