Are the tuber and XB front brake master cylinder and perch the same? |

Same in overall casting yes (for all intensive purposes)... same in MC bore, I do not believe so. |

And to go even further, even my brand new 1125 master cylinder is almost impossible to tell the difference from my tuber MC. |

Thought about picking up a fresher master for the M2 and thought I might buy one for an XB if it was compatible. |

Master cylinder bore is cast on the unit. For 6 piston PM caliper - 97 S1 is 5/8" For 6 piston Nissin caliper - 98 S1 / S1W / M2 / X1 is 1/2" For 6 piston Nissin caliper - XB is 1/2" For 8 piston Nissin caliper - 1125 and late XB is 19mm IIRC Lever heel is different between tubers and XBs as distance between centreline of pivot bolt and unloaded piston face is shorter on the 6 piston caliper for XBs, i.e. if you put a non XB Buell lever in a 6 piston XB master cylinder, you will load the piston up approximately 60 thou more than the XB lever. You can use an XB lever on a tuber or 1125, but it will rattle and may trigger the brake light in extreme circumstances... The really cool thing is that an 1125 (or late XB) brake lever fits straight onto a tuber, so you can have adjustment to reduce the tired hand effect... |
