I made a major life leap last Thursday. I told the day job of 16 years that I was going to have to let them go and put in my resignation. My business has grown to the point that it is time to make the jump and be able to devote more time to the business and get back to some since of normal life. As the song goes “The Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades” Thanks for everyone around here that supported the efforts!! Loren |

Wishing you well on being self employed. I've been self employed since '82, some times its been good other times not so good. Been trying to gather a little extra scratch and come see ya so you can fix my X1's monkey butt problem. |

I know how big of a leap that is Loren. Lynn and I wish you and Meribeth the best in your endeavor. After using many different seats I can honestly say my Baldwin Seat is the best I have ever used. Beats corbin hands down..... Frank and Lynn |

I know of another engineer that left a good job to pursue a business and dream. He has a loyal following.

Nice! I've been searching for a pan for my skinny M2 tail to send you. I have a stock pan, but I don't really want to tear it up since its good shape...The next step is get the money to get a Baldwin saddle custom made! Congrats!! |

That is great news Loren! I made the leap in '94 from being technically self employed (commercial fishing) to fully self employed (glass etcher and stone carver). Staying home to work full time was a bigger adjustment for me than the self reliance issue, since the fishing game was always a gamble anyway. I have all the work I need, have had 1-2 employees at times, but prefer to go it alone with Macy. Great Luck on your endeavor! Shane |

Shane, I took to heart what you told Meribeth and I at breakfast that morning in Colorado about always saying yes when someone ask if you can do or will you do something different. It is serving me well. I know this will not be easy, but I am looking forward to the autonomy of not working in a corporate setting. "...if you take good care of the biz-it will take care of you." Jack, I agree with you completely. |

This is exciting to me. I'm quite familiar with another infant motorcycle start-up at the moment and I think our timing is EXCELLENT. You also have the benefit of being in one of my favorite towns . . Baldwin City, KS . . a great place to live AND work. Douglas County is something that really needs to be experienced, most folks wouldn't understand it. . . it's a microcosm of entrepreneurship within Kansas. My Dad . . just over in Topeka . . said it best . . "you'll never make any money working for someone else". All the best . . I can't wait to watch you grow! Court |

I have been enjoying it, although working my tail off. Court, I am but a shadow of a shadow compared to the other infant motorcycle start-up but agree the timing is excellent. I figure carving a business out in such a down economic time, will be a very good thing in the long term. Loren |
