I just brought my new M2 home and discovered I was missing one of the screws that mounts the front fork brace to the forks. Does anyone know what size screw I need. Thanks |

Since they are Showa forks, the are metric. Don't try to thread a 1/4 20 in there.. Just bop over to your local hardware store. I replace all 4 of mine with stainless steel Allen head cap screws. |

There is a Stainless steel kit on Ebay right now, I found it by searching: Buell mount bolts |

Just bop over to your local hardware store Take one of the three you have, with you. Lowe's tends to have a nice setup in the hardware aisle for test-threading stuff, so you can match it up. |

The 2000-2001 parts book doesn't give the details on that bolt. I have a home-made fender mount ("fork-brace") on mine, wasn't made in my home, but somebody's. The 4 bolts are shiny stainless, but I couldn't abide the right rear one that holds the brake-line stay wire sticking up like it's loose. I had to file down the underside of the cap-head bolt, by the thickness of the stay wire to get it looking right. I'll try to get a picture of mine, never seen another one like it. |

This is a pretty old post, but my parts book shows that it is a M8-20X1.25, which to me means it should be a M8-1.25X20 (8mm bolt with 1.25 pitch and 20 mm long). |
