In regards to the primary side, there are two long bolts, the one holds the shifter assembly together, and the other has a safety strap for the exhaust. Does the chin fairing itself go flush to the primary or does that aluminum spacer go in between the fairing and the primary? |

The spacer goes in between. Going by memory, I think there are actually two spacers. (Message edited by kalali on March 29, 2011) |

Yes, there is a spacer for each bolt and they do go in between. |
