The factory front rotor is pretty loose.

I have two options. Replace with one off ebay or change front wheel to xb type. I have a complete black xb front wheel rotor and all. Don't have an xb frt caliper.

What is involved with the xb upgrade?

The rotor on ebay is a buell one for $128 + shipping.

There is more options than that. EBC rotors, Braking rotors, Galfers (if they still make em).

Or simply replace the hardware . . .

And add Washers PN BA148.9SS until the rotor is tight on the hardware ...

That is how "i" stopped my rotor from being loose ...

I have not looked at the details of the swap in quite some time, however I remember there being something abbout a different rake offset.

But perhaps thats only when you swap out the tripple tree as well?

Possibly, I thought it was a slightly steeper rake

I found this post by phelan

http://www.buellforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t= 10135

I have a guy looking for the spring washers. That was the first thing I did. Then I got to thinking about the xb wheel I have. Wanted to put those wheels on the S1 since I bought. Now is a good time I figured.

As for options. Galfer is $300+, other aftermarket are $200+. If I didn't just spend $1700 rebuilding my FXR motor I would have a bigger budget.

$128 is an excellent price for the upgraded (Buell) rotor. You might consider doing that and continuing your search for those wave washers so you've got a replacement later on if you need to change out your rotor.

Wave washers fixed mine, still holding up great. I just added a new set to the existing set, took care of the death-rattle.

I got EBC Prolite disc from American Sport Bike, and used XB rear rotor screws to fasten it on. But I'm thinking the wave washers would be good to get, to have on hand if I ever need to swap back to the original rotor.

what is it? the front rotor is like 2 lbs lighter than the front? Or is it that the front and rear wave rotor drops 2 lbs? I forget.

I bought one of those "up-graded" rotors and it took about a month before it developed a pulsation. I'll be putting my EBC rotor back on , even though I don't care for the look.

This is the BUELL KIT that dealt with the "loose" (and loose doesn't hurt a thing . . . just sounds bad). It was intended to deal with the ham fisted dealer techs who didn't know how to install a "C" clip but also, as sort of a side bennie . . . helped the rattle.

Sporty E -

Once I changed my pads from the stock material the pulsation went away. With the Lyndall Golds I've not had any squealing or pulsing, bette feel in general too.

I lucked out with the front rotor...I found one on ebay that was miss labeled. New updated Buell rotor with bolts, shipped to my door for $88.00! It was a HD dealer out of Texas that sold it. They had it listed as a hardware kit. I found it when I searched "Buell hardware". I sent them an email and asked them some questions. They only had the part number for the bolts listed and not the numbers for the rotor. I think they had some "Random Joe" running the ebay sales. He had no idea what he had.
