I am looking for helpful info on painting my M2. My bike is awesome, and I absolutely love the way it rides and runs. However, the previous owner tried doing some pretty stupid stuff as far as cosmetics go. I would really like to give my bike a face lift with some paint, especially the tank. I was just curious what you guys have done, or where you have gone to get a good looking paint job on your bike. Can you paint the plastics? Has anyone had good luck with that? Thanks! |

4traxx; yep, most of the repaints i have seen are a terrible match because they used a standard gray primer. |

Thanks for posting that! That's good information to keep available for the Tuber community! |

Hey man, I painted my M2. Used rattle cans and it looks as good as any body shop. Prep is everything. I also used Caswell tank sealer. I talked to them and although they could not guarantee it would work on the Buell nylon, they said it has worked on all the plastics they have tried it on. For $50ish bucks, I figured it was worth a shot. Good luck, keep us posted. Frank. |

i used "Martin senour" (NAPA) for my bike, plastic and metal. (british racing green) the only thing i did differently for the plastic was add a urithane flexable additive, and have had no problems. its been on over 4 years now. drop the $ on a good HVLP gun and waste allot of paint practicing.

I have a 2000 M2, but it lists both Demon Blue and Streak Blue. I can't tell which it is. |

Isn't there a 'color code' embedded in the VIN? Well, cars have it I've heard. |
