I have it on a 99 s3 it is a showa fully encased nitrogen shock. No resovoir at least externally for oil. It came with the bike I installed it brand new about a year ago. It seems to have lost quite a bit of its tension.is it normal for a shock of this type to need to be refreshed after such a short time? I am fairly large about 213 lbs. Or is most likely in need of a rebuild? |

It's Showa, it's smoked. Race tech in CA can make it work again for a while until it craps out again. If you can afford the works or better yet Penske, go for it. American Sport Bike can hook you up |

Thanks, Ill probably save up and get the works shock. Those prices are just insane though for a shock. |

They are, but even the cheapest works is amazing compared to the stock one. I just installed a new works shock recently and the bike just feels all around lighter. Even easier than it was before to toss the bike around corners. (plus the new shock looks really shiney!) |

handling with the stock shock was good. I'm just sick of these things busting seals. |

Race Tech charged Three something for a rebuild with the Gold valve kit.I hoping that I get to ride it today. Installed in 2 days ago and the temps dropped and the wind howled |

Eshardball let me know how that goes...i've been in contact with them about my blown shock (its the newer style....i'm a BIG dude) if I have to i'll go with works if that ends up being the stronger shock for a dude my size |

If enough Buell owners lobbied Hagon - the company has a model fitment request suggestion box on their website - Hagon UK might be convinced to make some shocks for our bikes. The shocks they make are inexpensive and of decent quality. Kaput |

Ohlins makes the best shock in the market for our tube frames, but it's very very expensive...
