What is the drop dead date on the hotel reservation?
Bart, are you going? You might want to. There are a lot of people looking for pictures right now. If you are riding the ST there will be no way I will be able to keep up with you on that comfy machine. I will bring duct tape incase your belt starts showing.
Maybe we should invite the Uly and 1125 crowd to show them what being a Bueller means. We can bring Aerostich catalogs for the Uly guys that have Power Ranger fantasies
and "posting for idiots" for the watercooler riders.
Tom, just tape a picture of your S2 onto your saddlebags, and cover the Hardley emblems on your gas tank with Buell emblems and all will be good to go. We know you are one of us, regardless of what you happen to be riding...
Cool RT, if you ride I will have to. I do want to push the limits since I am feeling much better these days.
My rule of thumb, granted I am no where near Smoke's class of rider, is to do as many miles the first day I can then settle to a more reasonable pace the next day or days.
We will see, I have some things I want to do to the S2T before hand (new belt, tires, fork fluid etc etc.)
This is going to be good. I need to see about getting the time off of work since I am down to having just a few days of vacation. I discovered the "Absent No Pay" code and have no trouble using it.
Sounds like a good rule, Frank. I max out around 600-650 miles in a day, but I prefer to plan for no more than 400. If I'm riding alone, I tend to get the "white line fever" and push harder. Longer days in summertime certainly help keep the numbers up, but my old butt wears out eventually.

Frank, I would love to make the gathering, I am feeling guilty that I may not make it. But, I have to think of my significant other, and I after dragging her to homecoming on my POS Uly, I wouldn't want to put her on the back of my S2 for that many miles. I "could" take the ST, and have certainly entertained that thought. It is such a road couch, I wouldn't even be tired at the end of a long day. (as long as I didn't get sick, LOL). I still need to talk this over with my Babee, and see what we can work out. I would really like to make this run, I miss you guys, but I need to spend some quality time with Deb, now that we live in two different states, and that does eat up the vacation time.
You do know that Jalapeno comes from New Mexico, LOL.
Anyway, I'm still thinking of this run, but know the reality is, I will probably be sitting here, working, and watching anxiously for posts and pictures of whats going on up there, wishing I was there.
I am having some issues at home with out pet rabbit.
So I have not been able to research or plan any dinner plans. My nights have been pretty hectic.
If anyone has a few min and could take a look at the area and find a place that maybe able to handle our ruckus group it will be much appriciated. I will call and make the arrangments but the finding is the part I am not able to do right now.
i figure about 22 hr to do the 1300+ miles from Breaux Bridge,La to Christmas, Mi. i will probably leave on thurs morning. early night friday for sure for me. head back sunday early afternoon and take 23 to get back. new tires prior to leaving this time! tim
I`ve got some good dinner plans for that area, across the street from the motel is a place called Foggys, good food and bar.West about 10 mi. is a cool looking place, and south west about 10 mi. I know a great bar that has very good food, not just bar food. Also in Munising are a couple of interesting spots.I have also looked into a couple 100-150 rides that have interesting food/bar options as well.
Foggys steakhouse and lounge has some decent reviews, not sure if it can handle a large crowd or not. anybody able to drive up there and check out some locations?
Frank, Thank you for your support. Times have been tough since the move, and quality time is very sparse lately.
