It would be cool to make the bottom bars have threaded ends on them so you could adjust/ set the seat height |

Tutte, That looks really cool. I've been planning on doing something very similar (I've raised my tail but want it shorter), below is crude photochop of basically what I've been thinking but this is with using existing aluminum frame as a base which I'm starting to lean against. I have extra tail piece but instead of trying to use that and fab a top end piece to it, I think it will be easier/better to do a tube frame like you've done. My main issue at this point is what to do with the top piece itself. Whether to fabricate it from aluminum or try to find a tail piece from another bike and make it fit. Is yours all made by yourself or did you get the finish piece from somewhere else? I don't mean the tube frame but the finish part and seat. Thanks! And to asnwer Purpony's original question, I think your tail in principle is cool but definitely do it out of round tube rather than square. Look at the small picture you posted, it's tail curves up a bit at the back which gives it much nicer shape, less "homemade". And yes, use same size tube as the frame, this also will give it that factory look.

Tutte, The photo of my bike is phtoshopped. I have the normal tail althoughd I've raised it. After thinking about this and know what I can do myself, I think I'm going with the tube route without any fairing. I wanted to do single downtube but I want to keep the oil tank location (& ecm etc.) where they are now, to keep things simple), I will do two down tubes. Then I can fab a plate to cover underside of everything. Although I haven't ruled out the fairing route, maybe from here we can create few orders for your fairing guy! Good luck with your project, please post some pics, it looks very cool. |

Nice job Tutte. Sorry for the dumb question but can you explain (or show a photo) what oil line you mean? Where it starts? And also what cooler is that? I live in Miami so oil cooler would be a good idea... |

Hi Flying finnish, the oil line and fittings in order at a store.I will used the light version in Aluminium. The biggest problem is for me the color. http://www.isa-racing.com/index.php/cat/c162_Serie -600-Anschluesse-UNF.html I can buy only one in red and blue.I want it in BLACK do you one in the US? The cooler was from Hyosong 125 cc Cruiser 2 ,mod year2007. I will fixed the cooler in the back oil line.So from the pump to the cooler than in the oiltank. So i have no thermostat in the front of the bike and extra oil line back to the cooler. I think that is enough when you lose 5° or 10° grad Celsius from the oil temperature. I hope i give you the right answer about your questions. There was no dump questions but i think in German and than i must be write in english . so sorry for my bad technical english. Talk you soon |

Hi Tutte, Just now realized you're not in US... I DIY'ed auxiliary oil cooler on my car so that much I can do, I'm just not sure where I would route the hose to the cooler and so on but I can figure it out. We have black fittings in US, here is a link to one place that sells them. there are others too. http://pitstopusa.com/c-260034-fittings-hoses-hose-ends-aeroquip-black-swivel-hose-ends.html
